Spring Festivals in Chicago

Mar 26, 2014

There is always plenty of stuff to do whenever you make a visit to a place like Chicago because there is something for everyone here. A popular time to give us a call for a Chicago charter bus and make a quick trip over would be March when the weather is mild and festivals like the annual St. Patrick’s Day Downtown Parade is happening.

St. Patrick’s day is not the only reason to stop by for a visit, here are some other festivals that goes on on a regular basis that you might want to check out and be a part of.

  • River Dyeing
  • Navy Pier’s Chicago Flower and Garden Show
  • Chicago International Art, Antique and Jewelry Show
  • C2E2: Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo

St. Patrick’s Day and River Dyeing Event

If you have missed the chance to take part in this awesome event this year (2014), fret not because St. Patrick’s parade and River Dyeing event happens every year. Turning the river into a sea of green is a unique event that happens only in Chicago and it has been so for 40 years and counting.

Unlike St. Patrick’s Day downtown parade and live entertainment which are partly and usually funded by authorities and industries, the River Dyeing event is privately funded. Sadly, it has become more and more expensive to carry on this distinctive event every year. But the good news is that in an effort to continue with this unique event, donations and drives do pour in in order for it to continue. The best place to catch it would be to bring the Chicago charter bus around to anywhere between Columbus and Wabash.

Navy Pier’s Chicago Flower and Garden Show

The Flower and Garden show proves, once again, that is it an event worthy of a visit regardless of whether you have a green thumb or not. The event is serene and is thought to be one of the best ways to educate young kids and college students about their environment, flora and fauna.

It features:-

  • How to garden
  • Cake decorating
  • Potting parties

Tickets are available for individual visits, group tours and Evening in Bloom tour.
