An Amazing Conservatory at the Garfield Park

If you are planning a visit to Chicago, then do take some time off to visit the Garfield Park located at the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the west side of Chicago. Designed by William LeBaron Jenney as a pleasure ground, this park is one of the oldest of the three great original Chicago West Side Parks - the Humboldt Park, Garfield Park, and Douglas Park.

Should charter bus visitors visit the Garfield Park Conservatory when at the park. It is one of the largest conservatories in the United States. Referred to as a “landscape art under glass”, it features a whole lot of permanent plant exhibits from all around the world.

Guided Tours at the Conservatory

Rental bus visitors can opt for guided tours when visiting the Garfield Park Conservatory. Stroll through prehistoric ferns, and take a walk past trickling streams in this botanic haven. The tours offered here are:

  • Free Introductory Tours: Held every Sunday at 2pm. Registration is first come, first serve starting at 1pm. This tour is 45 minutes long and takes you through the campus.
  • Themed Conservatory Tours: Tour costs $12 per person, focusing on Plants and History, Tropical Treats, Behind-the-Scenes and more topics to come. These private tours are schedules upon requests only.
  • Self-Guided Tours: Tour at your leisure using the signs around the gardens. Admission is free.

There are lots of activities that gets planned for families and children at the Garfield Park Conservatory. Check out some of the events should you be visiting in your coach bus.

    Day: Everyday
    Time: All Conservatory Hours
    Location: Pick up your scavenger hunt in the Lobby
    Cost: FREE, donations appreciated
